The two-part Autiola series finds noise and black metal artist Absolute Key displaying a quieter and more contemplative side, with haunting piano and the hissing drones and noises of an old house.

"The seeds of this series were planted when I was playing a piano in an empty house. I felt the presence and ghosts of this hollow space and it felt like this house was playing, not me. Back home some tracks were slowed down, some background layers were recorded and so these notes got their final form. Autiola series are music for being between somewhere, in a limbo. All is ended, nothing has started – yet."

"Autiola-sarja on soitettu tyhjässä talossa – kahden muuton välissä. Vanhat jäljet ja muistot oli jo pyyhitty pois, ja uudet tulijat olivat vielä kaukana. Talo sai olla oma itsensä, hengittää omaan tahtiinsa, omassa hiljaisuudessaan. Tuossa hetkessä eräänä kesäkuisena päivänä nauhoitin pitkään nurkassa ollutta pianoa, hakien sointuja tuosta hiljaisuudesta ja talon omista kaiuista. 'Autiola'-sana on johdettu sanasta 'autuala', jota Akseli Gallen-Kallela käytti eräässä kirjeessään. Missä tämä autuala on autuattein viimeinen majapaikka, Autiola on välitila. Autiola on samaan aikaan elävä ja kuollut, täällä ja muualla. Hylätty koti, joka kaiken tunnottoman tyhjyyden lisäksi antaa myös lohtua."
